All You Could Ask, and more...: March 2010

So I've been reading Matthew 1-4. I pondered: John the Baptist preaching "Repent" and then Jesus came on the scene and taught everywhere saying, "Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand." We are fallen people, we all have sinned, so God sent His only Son, born of the Spirit, humbled to becoming a man, destined to suffer and die in our place, even being the King of kings.
⁸And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross! ⁹Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has ^[f]freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, Philippians 2:8-9

I need to have a vision of this Kinsman Redeemer, this humble Savior, this Man who took my place. Once Peter and Andrew saw Jesus, all He said was "Follow Me" and they did, and their brothers too. Matthew actually says when Jesus saw them, He called them, and they immediately followed. So it is a two way relationship. But what did they see that made them trust Him right away? He must be so beautiful, yet the Old testament says He has no beauty that we should desire Him upon looking. Did He pour out His spirit in them to create a desire to follow, a love, a trust? If we behold the Lord will we cry Holy!? Do we have to invite Him; must we say "yes" to His invitation. We must give to receive, we must receive to give.....
Luke 6:21 (AMP) Blessed (happy-- with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, apart from your outward condition--and to be envied) are you who hunger and seek with eager desire now, for you shall be filled and completely satisfied! Blessed (happy-- with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, apart from your outward condition--and to be envied) are you who weep and sob now, for you shall laugh!

It is unexplainable when I think about my life now. I can go on with reasons and scriptures that say following the Lord is right and rewarding, but I wanna see more. My hunger daily grows. I have had the Spirit of the living God given to me, and I need more to seek all that is Love. I need more to obey, to keep His commands, for my heart is dark, but I am lovely to Him. I need vision, Lord open my eyes to the beauty realm, the beautiful Man Jesus, let me see, trust, love, follow God in the flesh, the Word, Truth, Life. Jesus I will love You. Help me to be obedient to the word of God, so that the heavens would be opened to me and I would see how the Father loves me.

¹⁵ But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.¹⁶ When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He^[a] saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. ¹⁷ And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:15-17 NKJ

(Jesus said) I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me. John 5:30 NKJ

Matthew 5:6 (AMP) Blessed and fortunate and happy and spiritually prosperous (in that state in which the born-again child of God enjoys His favor and salvation) are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God), for they shall be completely satisfied!

Thank You Father God for Your Spirit that hungers for more. Thank You for the hunger for Your presence, Your truth, Your power. Thank You for keeping me wanting more, that I may determine to be only satisfied by the promises of God, which are Yes and AMEN!
