Psalm 121:1-2
I lift up my eyes to the hills--
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
Oh I look to the hills! How beautiful, how majestic, how mysterious! Who can know each crack and crevasse? Who can keep you safe when lost among them? Who can shine the moonlight upon them? Who can crush them to into tiny rocks and make them cry out! Only our God, the One who made them. Our Father has the power, the wisdom, the knowledge to move any mountain! He is our safe place, he is our helper! Jesus sent the Spirit of the Living God to help us, to comfort us, to lead us into the knowledge of the heart of God, the knowledge of the glory of God, the knowledge of the desires and demands of God! We give praise to Jesus because, as our God and King He has been merciful to us. We despised Him in our selfish sin, ignoring the all seeing Eye of God. Yet those very eyes, who saw us before we were even a thought to man, those eyes look upon us even now, just as we are. They look at us with great desire to talk with us, to hear from us our own desires and demands. God wants us to speak to Him about our heart, about the glory we know of. God wants relationship with little ol' man and woman. Yes, He knows our thoughts and needs before we ask. Before we discuss the longings of our hearts with Jesus, He knows. Yet still He loves to hear our voice, and His power is so great that He can have compassion even as we tell Him things He already has been working on fixing.
John 11:34-36 (New International Version)34"Where have you laid him?" he asked. "Come and see, Lord," they replied. 35Jesus wept. 36Then the Jews said, "See how he loved him!" This weeping Jesus was about to raise Lazarus from the dead, and even though He knew this, as friends of Lazarus took Him to the grave where he laid, Jesus joined in weeping with them. Our Lord is compassionate like no other human. His compassion is Divine, unprecedented, pure, and rooted in deep love for you and me.
He loves to hear our voices! He loves to bring us comfort. He loves to partner with us to bring healing. He loves to bless us with miracles. He loves to give us hope and life. He so loves us!
(God says to us:)
My dove in the clefts of the rock,
in the hiding places on the mountainside,
show me your face,
let me hear your voice;
for your voice is sweet,
and your face is lovely. Song of Solomon 2:14
